Wonderful, M.T.! I absolutely love your rhymes and cadence; how you do this is a mystery to me! But even more than the shape and feel of the poem, I love the message. Words can expand and contract, shape-shift in ways we're not even aware of. Your reminder to pay attention, real attention, "allow some expanding," is so very important. I'm often stuck in the "how I perceived that" versus "what you meant," a trap I continually try to "write" my way out of. Really helpful and lovely!
