el n…es. The Muses feel nothing for the artist, since all they do is dole out doses of Chaos and depart. Through their presence, we take a deep breath, perhaps even hold it — as if such a thing could be contained for long — before bellowing it out, turning gray script to glowing embers, before the winds of the following breaths set the words on fire. In the face of the flames, the Muses are gone. Verse and song feed the flames of creation, as if out of nothing…’out of thin air’…since the Muses …
